Why get involved?

Change the statistics! Did you know that 1 out of 8 women in the US will develop breast cancer and that 7% of these women will be under the age of 40?

Barbells for boobs is a non-profit organization dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer, with an emphasis on women and men under the age of 40.

Inspired by athletes everywhere, local communities come together, fundraise, and help us detect potentially life threatening breast cancer occurrences.

They aim to provide a way for breast cancer to be detected in its earliest stage in order to prevent a growing and infinitely more serious problem.

Their grant program provides funding to breast centers nationally as a resource for thousands of men and women who do not qualify for government funding or other charitable resources in the detection of breast cancer.

Barbells for Boobs has been able to successfully provide detection services in many states across the U.S. Our impact has not only raised awareness of the incidence of breast cancer under the age of 40, it has also provided resources to those that typically would not have access to the necessary screening and diagnostic procedures to detect breast cancer.

Testimonials

*Well, maybe its an addiction. Almost four months ago, July 1st to be exact, I decided to get my health back in order and get myself into better shape. I joined an intense (extreme?) workout regiment called CrossFit. For those that have spoken/seen me in that last few months, they know I cannot shut up about it. Well, one of the guys in my "Box" wrote an interesting piece on his website regarding his first 3 months as a CrossFit member. His articulate article puts everything I feel/experienced about CrossFit in one piece. If you have time and/or are thinking of getting back into shape, or if you are physically fit and are looking for a new physical challenge, I highly suggest you read the article.

November 1st will be my 120th day as a CrossFit member. To date, I am just shy of losing 30lbs. The weight loss, however, doesn't tell the whole story. The amount of lean muscle mass put on has been equally impressive. I hope to hit my goal by next week.

PS. My wife joined as well for moral support & in the process has gotten hooked too.*
