Our Free Introductory Classes is available with the purchase of one of our Spring/Summer Special.  Our Introductory Classes are mandatory for the individual who wants to workout in our CrossFit group classes.  If you are looking to lose weight fast, gain muscle, confidence, boost your moral and have lots of fun doing it, this gym is the place for you.  Please call 516-308-4070 to inquire about the details of the free introductory classes.

The Free Introductory Classes are called our Foundation Classes and you will be taught all of the foundational movements of CrossFit.  The course meets for four classes over two weeks. The days and hours are Tuesday and Thursday at 8PM and it does require a reservation.  The Free Introductory classes and the Spring/Summer Special are not to be combined with any other discounts, coupons or groupons.  This package is not available to current members of CrossFit Lighthouse.

During the one-hour Free Introductory Classes you will, along with other beginners, will be working with a personal trainer, certified coach who will safely expose you to our movement curriculum in a small group setting. Movement techniques will be drilled as well as a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our group classes.

Following the completion of the Free Introductory Classes. A personal trainer certified coach will ensure that you are ready to safely transition into our CrossFit group classes. All of the Free Introductory Classes must be completed before you may attend our regularly scheduled CrossFit group classes. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to class.

On Thursday night during your Free Introductory Classes you will be coached on the foundational movements of CrossFit.  You will learn the gymnastic moves such as pull ups, push ups, air squats, box jumps, ring dips, rope climbs and all of the modifications for these movements.

On Tuesday night during your Free Introductory Classes you will be coached on Olympic Lifting and Power Lifting moves.  You will be taught the correct posture and movement that is required to lift weights safely and injury free.

CrossFit Lighthouse personal trainer, coaches, staff and members make it an easy transition into the group  classes after you are finished with your Free Introductory Classes.  Every one is welcoming and cheering you on to your next level of fitness!!!

*I have been training at Crossfit Lighthouse for the past two and half years. I spent the majority of my life morbidly obese and had never worked out before. After losing the majority of the weight I started working out at work with some friends in 2010. We then came into Lighthouse in July of 2013. I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t know anything about Crossfit. I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable coaches who taught me the basics. As someone who until a few years prior had never picked up a weight I was very intimidated. The coaches were great at explaining that Crossfit is a process. They told me Crossfit is about slowly getting better over time and it took a while but when I finally earned the RX next to my name on the white board I was thrilled.
The coaches take the time each day to help me improve my technique and give pointers on how to move more efficiently. The coaches are extremely passionate and genuinely care about how I am doing. I am constantly amazed at the tips, drills and new ways they have of breaking down each lift. I recently have set a personal record in back squat, snatch, clean and front squat. The beauty of Crossfit is there is always something to work on and improve. The variety of movements and programs allow me to be striving for more. Training at Lighthouse has given me a confidence that I didn’t have before. I consider myself an athlete, where before I would never say that. It helps me learn how to set small attainable goals and break tasks down into manageable pieces; get through this round, break it up into sets of 5, or increase the weight by 5 pounds. I learned how to appreciate small successes and see that as part of the process. I am very grateful to be a member of Crossfit Lighthouse.
